Slightly Mad haalt ¤500.000 op voor Project CARS

Slightly Mad Studios heeft bekendgemaakt dat zij €500.000 hebben opgehaald voor aanstaande spel Project CARS. Het spel wordt volledig gefinancierd via crowd-funding. Slightly Mad heeft hiervoor het World of Mass Development of WMD opgezet. Op dit moment hebben zich 40.000 mensen aangemeld als mede-financier.

“It’s great to see our WMP portal performing well. It’s nothing less than a revolutionary new approach to game development and funding. It allows developers to make the game they want to make, without undue publisher pressure,” zegt Slightly Mad-baas Ian Bell.

Development director Andy Garton zegt: “WMD is therefore a unique prospect for both developers looking to raise funds for their projects and gamers that want to get involved in the exciting process of game development.”

Project CARS komt in 2013 uit op pc, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 en Wii U.
