'Marokkanen moeten extremisme fel afkeuren'
Abdou Menebhi, voorzitter van de Stedelijke Marokkaanse Raad (SMR) uit Amsterdam, zegt vandaag in een paginagroot interview met De Telegraaf dat hij bang begint te worden van alle moorden en aanslagen uit naam van de islam, maar ook van wat dat weer tot gevolg heeft voor de goedwillende moslims, de zwijgende meerderheid. Het wordt volgens Menebhi dan ook de hoogste tijd dat de Marokkaanse gemeenschap duidelijker naar buiten gaat treden. ''Men moet zonder voorbehoud stelling nemen tegen terrorisme en fundamentalisme.''De 55-jarige Marokkaan, die in 1974 uit Marokko vluchtte omdat hij als vakbondsman zijn leven daar niet zeker was, richtte de eerste organisatie voor hier werkende landgenoten op, het Komité Marokkaanse Arbeiders Nederland (KMAN), gevolgd door de SMR. Hij zegt in de jaren 80 al gewaarschuwd te hebben: ''Ik had toen aanwijzingen dat Nederlandse moskeeën steeds sterker vanuit het buitenland werden beïnvloed en gedirigeerd. Daarbij doelde ik op de rol van geestelijk leiders uit Saoedi-Arabië, Libië, Marokko en Algerije die imams in onze grote steden bestookten met antiwesterse haatboodschappen.'' Jaren geleden organiseerde hij met de SMR een conferentie over de positie van Marokkaanse vrouwen. Tot groot ongenoegen van bepaalde moslims in Marokko, die een ware fatwa over hem afkondigden. ''Er werd opgeroepen actie te voeren tegen 'ons ongelovigen''', aldus Menebhi.
De SMR-voorzitter vreest dat de spiraal van geweld na de recente reeks aanslagen, moorden en incidenten tot nog meer tegenstellingen zal leiden. ''Wij-zij, zo wordt nu helaas in Nederland gedacht. Misschien hebben we wel met z'n allen zitten slapen.'' Menebhi probeert de spreekbuis te zijn van 10 Amsterdamse moskeeën. ''Van zeven andere wil ik niets weten. Die zijn me te fundamentalistisch, ik noem het kantoren van allerlei extremistische bewegingen die vanuit het buitenland worden gefinancierd en aangestuurd. Ze verheerlijken terreur en roepen met name jongeren op tot het voeren van de jihad, de heilige oorlog. ''

Wat betreft de problematiek met Marokkanen heeft de gemeente Amsterdam volgens hem een grote fout gemaakt door in het verleden niet te willen praten over Marokkanen, maar over álle minderheden: ''Specifieke groepen van allochtonen waren uit den boze, dat was 'discriminatie', en dus werd alles op één hoop gegooid. Maar de situatie van 50.000 Marokkanen in de hoofdstad is niet te vergelijken met die van, pak hem beet, Ethiopiërs, Antillianen of Somaliërs.''
Volgens hem raken zoekende jongeren in de ban van terreur door onder meer haatpredikende islamitische voorgangers, maar ook door allerlei websites en chatboxen: ''Op het internet kun je, net als in de koran of de bijbel, precies datgene zoeken wat toevallig in je kraam past. Dat is wat mensen als Mohammed B. en Samir A. hebben gedaan. Kwaad zaaien, haat oogsten. Ik geloof in de scheiding van kerk en staat, dus dat moet ook in de moskee zo zijn. Ik werd geboren als moslim, maar ben vóór alles democraat en Nederlander. Dat schort er bij veel ontspoorde Marokkaanse jongeren aan.'' Voor lieden zoals Samir A. en Mohammed B. heeft Menebhi tensotte ook nog een paar woorden over: ''Jullie deugen niet, jullie zijn gek. En die Allah van júllie bestaat helemaal niet.''
Overigens heb voor zijn KMAN geen enkele waardering. Altijd opruiende schreeuwers gevonden. Maar de strikte scheiding die hij voor staat tussen kerk/moskee en staat in dit artikel, zijn afwijzing van fundamentalisme en de hand in eigen boezem, daar heb ik veel waardering voor.

Ik hoor veels te veel moslims twijfelachtig zeggen dat ze wel een beetje snappen waarom die aanslagen er zijn, ipv te roepen dat dit soort idioten op alle mogelijke manieren aangepakt moeten worden.

Hij staat net als een Salman Rushdie tegenover een fatwa, geen idee of hij ook een doodsfatwa over zich uitgeroepen heeft.
Maar hij laat tenminste zien dat er ook een groep is van moslims, waarvan we wel vermoeden dat die er is, die gewoon Nederlander wil zijn en mee wil draaien in deze maatschappij met haar basisbeginsels. Perfect, zo willen we het toch graag zien? ^o^
Laat de gematigde kant zich maar eens goed profileren en tegen die fascistische gasten opstellen.
Moslims zijn zeer bedreven in het spreken met een gespleten tong. Uit het verleden is al gebleken hoe weinig moslims de terreur verwerpen. Het is toch ook vreemd dat back-benchers zoals Wilders en Hirsi Ali wel op een dodenlijst staan en bv Balkenende niet.
Wij mogen dus geen islamitische landen meer aanvallen omdat anders onze moslims boos worden? Als ze echte Nederlanders zouden zijn zouden ze eerst aan de belangen van Nederland denken en dan aan die van de gehele bevolking van het land en hoogstens daarna pas aan de islam. Ik ken diverse werkgevers die verblind door de politiek correcte multi-culti maffia marokkanen hadden aan genomen. Ze zijn nu een illusie armer en in een aantal gevallen ook een hoop (kas)geld.
Andere werkgevers horen van wanprestaties, corruptie, aggressie, stelen etc etc van deze bevolkingsgroep en hebben dan niet zoveel trek meer om zelf ook eens wat goede wil te tonen. Dan is het wel begrijpelijk dat ze voor Kees gaan, ze willen immers wel politiek correct zijn maar ze moeten met hun bedrijf ook het hoofd boven water houden, en dan heb je niets aan dat multi cultie gezwam dat het aan ons ligt en de medelander alleen de kans gegeven moet worden. Zij weten uit de praktijk dat het iets anders ligt.
Zie als voorbeeld hoe ze geprobeerd hebben het creationisme terug in het onderwijs te krijgen, te gek voor woorden gewoon.
Van Donner hoef je dan ook weinig goeds te verwachten als het gaat om het minimaliseren van de invloed van de islam in de samenleving en het bewaken en verbeteren van de scheiding tussen kerk en staat.
Zo gaat ons belasting geld bijvoorbeeld o.a. naar religieus onderwijs, dat is dus geen scheiding tussen kerk en staat!
Helaas verwacht ik van de PvdA niet veel verbetering op dit vlak, die hebben het straks veel te druk met het pamperen van de minima.

The most senior Islamic cleric in Birmingham claimed yesterday that Muslims were being unjustly blamed in the war on terrorism and that the eight suspects in the two bombing attacks on London "could have been innocent passengers".
Mohammad Naseem, the chairman of the city's central mosque, called Tony Blair a "liar" and "unreliable witness" and questioned whether CCTV footage issued of the suspected bombers was of the perpetrators.
He said that Muslims "all over the world have never heard of an organisation called al-Qa'eda".
Mr Naseem, who was speaking after police seized Yasin Hassan Omar in Birmingham, delivered his unprompted outburst when he was invited to a press conference with West Midlands police and Birmingham city council to help calm fears of racial or religious tension after the arrest.
It was held near the police cordon in Heybarnes Road, where Omar was arrested.
His comments shocked senior police officers.
Sources said that attempts to encourage Muslims to pass them information on the bombers' activities would be hindered. One said: "We are trying to gain the trust of the Muslim community and these kinds of comments have the opposite effect. All they do is encourage communities to close ranks against us."
To the obvious embarrassment of council officials and police standing next to him, Mr Naseem said the Government and security services "were not to be relied upon".

IHEU representative David Littman tried to deliver a prepared text in the names of three international NGOs – the Association for World Education, the Association of World Citizens and the IHEU – but was blocked by the "heavy-handed intervention" of Islamic representatives of the panel.
Littman said that after repeated interruptions, he was unable to complete his speech.
The Muslims members said they saw the text as an attack on Islam.
The IHEU argued Littman's speech was a report on recent critical comment on Islamist extremism by a number of notable Muslim writers.
The intent was for the U.N. Human Rights Commission "to condemn calls to kill, to terrorize or to use violence in the name of God or any religion."
The text referred to recent decisions by high-ranking Muslim clerics to confirm that those who carry out suicide bombings remain Muslims and cannot be treated as apostates.
A Saudi cleric, for example, issued a fatwa saying that innocent Britons were a legitimate target for terrorist action. Also, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University, who has visited Britain, said terror attacks are permissible.
Roy Brown, president of IHEU, said the censorship is "part and parcel of the refusal by the Islamic representatives at the U.N. to condemn the suicide bombers, or to accept any criticism of those who kill innocent people in the name of God."

The question of how to fight Islamic terrorism preoccupies many Arab reformists who are working to denounce Islamist thought, to encourage independent and critical thinking, and to establish values of democracy and human rights in the Muslim world. For example, in February 2005, a group of reformists submitted to the U.N. a request that it establish an international court to judge Muslim clerics who incite to violence and bloodshed. Following the July 7, 2005 London bombings, Arab reformists further expanded their criticism and honed their arguments, not only regarding Muslim extremists, but also regarding the European countries, particularly Britain, which allows extremist activity within its borders in the name of protecting individual rights. They also increased their criticism of the silent Muslim majority and moderate Muslim intellectuals, who capitulate to Islamist pressure and do not speak out decisively against it.

One of the most salient reactionsto the bombings was censure of Europe, particularly Britain, for its years-long policy of granting safe haven to Muslim extremists, enabling them to spread their ideas in schools, mosques, and the media, and giving them legal protection – in the name of protecting freedom of expression. Saudi intellectual Mashari Al-Dhaydi, columnist for the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, wrote: "The time has come for those who turn a blind eye to notice that the enemies of freedom have, unfortunately, exploited the atmosphere of freedom provided by the European countries, to destroy the foundations of freedom and to strangle any possibility that freedom would be born as a concept, and subsequently as a reality, in Arab and Muslim countries.

Arab reformists also harshly criticized their intellectual colleagues. Egyptian commentator and Al-Sharq Al-Awsat columnist Muna Al-Tahawibrought up the issue of the aspirations of some intellectuals to please their target audience: "The time has come for us to declare resolutely that the claim heard whenever Muslims stage a terror attack – 'George Bush made me do it' – is a stupid one… The time has come for us to stop rebuking others. We all know the extent to which extremism has increased in our societies, but it is easy to ignore this fact and to say 'we aren't like that' instead of dealing with the matter…
