Tien Juli 1940. Het begin van de "Battle of Britain", toen Adolf Hilter na zijn succesvolle Blitzkrieg in Nederland, Belgie en Frankrijk een poging deed het luchtoverwicht boven Engeland te veroveren. Pas als de Britse RAF was vernietigd zouden de Duitse landingsvaartuigen en daarmee een Duitse invasie op het Britse vasteland een kans van slagen hebben.
Een "Battle of Britain" waarin een glansrol was weggelegd voor Winston Churchill, wiens uitspraken legendarisch zijn geworden. Hier zijn bovendien nog een aantal van zijn speeches terug te luisteren.
