Verkoopcijfers Japan: Halo 3: ODST haalt de top-10

Echt voet aan de grond heeft Microsoft in Japan nooit kunnen krijgen, niet heel verrassend als je ziet wat de meest gespeelde Xbox-games zijn. De top-5 bestaat namelijk uit shooters en dat genre is in Japan bij lange na niet zo populair als in Europa en Amerika. Toch heeft Halo 3: ODST het voor elkaar gekregen de top-10 van best verkochte games te halen met 30.000 exemplaren in zijn launchweek. Of Microsoft gelijk feest viert is een ander verhaal, want Dragon Quest IX verkocht evenveel exemplaren, maar staat in totaal bijna op vier miljoen.

Maar ODST is niet de enige shooter die we terugzien. Ook Modern Warfare 4, in Japan uitgegeven door Square Enix, pakt twee plekjes in de top-30. De "nieuwe" Pokémongames blijven het ondertussen sterk doen en passeerden allebei de miljoen verkochte exemplaren afgelopen week, ondanks sterk terugvallende verkoopcijfers.
