'Mario Kart moet leegte na feestdagen opvullen'

Nintendo heeft bekend gemaakt dat Mario Kart Wii bewust niet rond de feestdagen zal verschijnen. Met games als Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles en Pokémon Battle Revolution zou het even teveel van het goede zijn. Ook zegt Nintendo dat ze over het algemeen veel klachten horen over het gebrek aan kwaliteitstitels na de feestdagen:

One of the most common complaints is that the video game industry focuses only on the holidays and saves nothing for the first quarter. Mario Kart will fill that void, and we're confident it will be a standout title.
[...]"

Mario Kart Wii zal met zowel de Wii Wheel als de Wiimote te spelen zijn.
