Alle Desert Combat fans kunnen opgelucht adem halen, want de mod komt voor Battlefield 2 onder de naam Desert Conflict. Waarschijnlijk zullen enkele mensen uit het oude Desert Combat team aan de mod meewerken. Meer lees je in dit nieuwsbericht:

Desert Combat fans feared that the release of Battlefield 2 meant the end of Desert Combat. However, it seems theres hope for the Desert Combat community. There will be a semi-official sequel to the mod for BF2 with the name Desert Conflict

Remember that little ol' mod called Desert Combat for Battlefield 1942? Well if not, it was and is one of the most successful mods ever made for a game. Today I can announce to you that a semi-official sequel will be made for Battlefield 2! That's right, and this time it will be called Desert Conflict. If you are not familiar with the mod, its basically modern warfare with a lot of toys to play with.

The term 'semi-official' suggests that at least some members of the original DC team are going to work on this mod.
