Zynga koopt Draw Something-ontwikkelaar
Zynga, de social games-gigant, heeft OMGPOP, de makers van Draw Something, gekocht. Wall Street Journal meldt dat de deal voor zo'n 210 miljoen dollar rond is. Zynga heeft nu de rechten op alle titels van OMGPOP in handen.
Volgens het bericht heeft Zynga 180 miljoen dollar betaald voor het bedrijf, plus 30 miljoen dollar voor de 45 werknemers van OMGPOP. Draw Something schijnt zo'n $250.000 per dag op te leveren.
Dan Porter, CEO van OMGPOP, zegt dat het bedrijf zich zal blijven focussen op Draw Something.
"The game will stay true to you and what you love, and it's my solemn vow that the magic of Draw Something will not change. I know without a doubt that Zynga is the right partner for OMGPOP. Our new partners at Zynga know how to innovate at scale, and they're pushing the limits of social with their mobile games.
