Hillary Clinton, de vrouw van voormalig president van de USA, Bill Clinton, bekritiseert Grand Theft Auto en noemt de game-serie een "major threat" voor het moraal. Clinton, die genoemd wordt als presidents kandidaat voor 2008, wil een grootschalig (90 miljoen dollar)onderzoek naar de impact van elektronische media op kinderen.
