De VS staan op de rand van fascisme
De Verenigde Staten kiezen vandaag een nieuwe president. De vraag is alleen of dat het resultaat wel op een democratische manier zal komen. Trump is al maanden bezig met het voorsorteren op het stelen van de verkiezingen. En als hem dat lukt, wordt hij daarmee dus een dictator. Dat het een fascistische dictator zal zijn, laten de parallellen met Hitler zien.
In het boek American Fascism waarschuwt de van origine Duitse schrijver Oliver Markus Malloy voor het opkomend fascisme in de Vernigde Staten. In een blogpost laat de schrijver een groot aantal parallellen zien.
"Hitler replaced all the judges with his loyalists. After that, everything Hitler did was legal. Opposing him was illegal. And that was the end of German democracy and the birth of Hitler’s dictatorship. A leader who is above the law is the definition of a dictator.
