Blizzard heeft aangekondigd dat er op 12 oktober de eerste World of WarCraft Battle Chests zullen worden verstuurd naar de winkels. Dit pakket zal het spel en de uitbreiding The Burning Crusade bevatten voor een prijs van €34,99. Of deze stap van Blizzard nog meer spelers naar de wereld van Azeroth gaat brengen zullen we zien in oktober wanneer de eerste verkoopcijfers bekend worden gemaakt.

De volledige inhoud van het pakket:

* A fully illustrated box, localized in five versions
(English, German, French, Spanish, Italian)
* One (1) unique Authentication Key to create your personal World of Warcraft account (online registration required).
* One (1) unique Authentication Key to upgrade your personal World of Warcraft account to the Burning Crusade.
