Throw back to my first world championships with the big girls. 18 and feeling lost in the biggest stadium I had ever seen. Both excited and afraid, stupidly peering every athlete around me like a kid discovering a whole new world. Knew other championships after that one and kinda got used to it, not afraid/amazed/impressed like I was the day this picture was taken. Crazy to realize that sometimes you're focusing so hard on the work you put in and the goal you want to reach that you might almost forget why and how you wanted so bad to be an athlete in the beginning. Tomorrow is a big day, leaving for Olympic Games!
