Vlambeer kondigt Wasteland Kings aan

De Nederlandse ontwikkelaar Vlambeer, bekend van onder meer Super Crate Box en Ridiculous Fishing, heeft zijn nieuwste project aangekondigd.

Wasteland Kings is een roguelike in een post-apocalyptische setting die oorspronkelijk ontwikkeld werd tijdens Mojam, een game-jam georganiseerd door Minecraft-developer Mojang. Vlambeer zal daarom, om de roots van de game te eren, regelmatig op wastelandkings.com een livestream uitzenden terwijl ze de game ontwikkelen. 

Volgens Rami Ismail is de game een combinatie van alles wat Vlambeer tot nu toe gemaakt heeft: "We've learned a lot about how to create gameplay that feels nice, and we've learned invaluable lessons about how to weave a strong fiction into a game, creating smooth interfaces and many other things."

"Wasteland Kings is something we couldn't have made without the things we've made the past few years. It's full of tributes to our other games, but in a way it's really our own little tribute to this thing that is Vlambeer."

Wasteland Kings verschijnt in het vierde kwartaal van 2013 voor pc.
