EverQuest Next voorlopig niet naar PlayStation 4

Everquest Next houdt het voorlopig bij pc. Sony Online Entertainment stelt dat de focus volledig op de pc-launch gericht is. Hoewel een PlayStation 4-versie niet uitgesloten wordt, is die nog niet in ontwikkeling.

Producer David Georgeson van Sony Online Entertainment: "We're very serious about this being a PC-orientated launch. Now, you're dumb not to explore other options with a business of this type, but we're very serious about developing for the PC.

You know the company knows a lot about the PlayStation 4 - look at DC Universe Online and Planetside 2 - so we have a lot of people becoming extraordinarily knowledgeable with that box. We're not adverse to the idea, but we're not going down that path yet."

De ontwikkelaar is overigens wel bezig om twee andere games te porten naar PlayStation 4, namelijk DC Universe Online en PlanetSide 2.

Sony Online Entertainment kondigde Everquest Next eerder deze maand aan. De opvolger van Everquest II zal naar verwachting in 2014 te spelen zijn.
