Treyarch: "Multiplayer is en blijft gratis"

Mark Lamia, momenteel het hoofd van Treyarch, heeft gezegd dat ze hun game Call of Duty: Black Ops zullen blijven ondersteunen en dat er geen 'online pass' nodig zal zijn om games te blijven verkopen. Lamia zegt dat de multiplayer gratis is en dat geen downloadbare code dat zal veranderen.

"I want to take that in the other direction and bring consumers really great reasons to keep their games, rather than trade them in. Multiplayer is critical to the success of this series. It has such tremendous staying power - there are millions of people playing Call of Duty every day."

Verder kondigde hij aan dat ze na de release van Black Ops veel ondersteuning zullen geven. Hiermee hoopt hij dat de kopers geinteresseerd blijven in de game en dat de game niet tweedehands wordt verkocht.

"We're going to support the hell out of Black Ops. That will be our focus post-release: making sure we keep our fans engaged, and hopefully as a result, they'll want to keep playing our game and won't want to trade it in."

Call of Duty: Black Ops komt 9 november uit voor de Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC en de Nintendo Wii.
