Toch geen Blu-ray voor de Xbox 360

Gisteren kon je lezen dat Steve Ballmer zei dat we in de toekomst aparte Blu-ray addons kunnen verwachten voor de Xbox 360. Microsoft zelf heeft deze woorden nu ontkracht en zegt dat zijn woorden verkeerd zijn geïnterpreteerd door het internet. Hij had het blijkbaar over PC accessoires.

"Steve was referring to Blu-ray accessories for the PC. As we have said in the past, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360," aldus Microsoft.

Nogmaals willen ze benadrukken dat de Xbox 360 de eerste en enige console is die vanaf eind dit jaar 1080p HD films kan gaan streamen.

"In fact, the future of home entertainment starts this fall when Xbox 360 becomes the first and only console to offer instant-on 1080p streaming HD movies."
