De succesvolle stand-alone uitbreiding van Hearts of Iron II, Doomsday, is geupdate naar versie 1.2. De patch doet onder andere:


- New technologies for the German Land doctrine tree.
- A revised experience system based on feedback from a player research group.
- Improvements to the multiplayer function resulting in smoother gameplay.
- Tweaks to convoys, air unit missions & escort fighters
