Yamauchi zegt ook dat hij nog niet weet of de online-mode als een add-on voor GT4 gereleased zal worden of dat het pas in Gran Turismo 5 (op de PlayStation 3) zal zitten. Dit laatste lijkt logischer, aangezien Yamauchi ook zegt dat de PS2 de online-mode niet volledig aankan.
