The Crown grote kanshebber bij Golden Globes, Tina Fey & Amy Poehler presenteren

In een jaar waarin er weinig films daadwerkelijk de bioscoop haalden, was er genoeg te beleven op onze kleine schermen. Een van de belangrijkste awardshows heeft zojuist de nominaties bekendgemaakt. Normaal vindt de ceremonie van de Golden Globes al in januari plaats, maar dit werd door corona verplaatst. Ook werden de presentatrices aangekondigd; Amy Poehler en Tina Fey zullen voor de vierde keer de presentatie op zich nemen. We nemen een aantal opvallende nominaties door. 

Niet zo verrassend is dat de streamingbedrijven erg goede zaken doen. Zo is bij de televisiecategorieën de grootste kanshebber met afstand The Crown. De Netflix-serie over het Britste koningshuis maakt kans op zes beeldjes. Het populaire Schitt's Creek maakt kans in drie categorieën. 

Bij de filmcategorieën doet The Trial of the Chicago 7 het erg goed. Netflix kocht de film van de filmstudio in een naar verluidt grotere deal en dat levert vijf nominaties op. Daarnaast gooit Amazon Prime Video hoge ogen met onder andere Borat: Subsequent Moviefilm, waarvoor beide hoofdrolspelers een nominatie ontvangen. Chadwick Boseman is postuum genomineerd voor de Netflix-productie Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Daarnaast mag James Corden na een wisselende ontvangst op zijn rol toch een nominatie bijschrijven voor The Prom
