Rise of the Tomb Raider toch geen exclusive

Rise of the Tomb Raider is een timed exclusive. Dat heeft Xbox-president Phil Spencer tegenover Eurogamer bevestigd. "Yes, the deal has a duration. I didn't buy it. I don't own the franchise", aldus Spencer.

Eerder leken zowel Crystal Dynamics als Microsoft te insinueren dat de nieuwe Tomb Raider voor altijd exclusief zou blijven. Hoe lang de exclusiviteitsperiode precies duurt wilt Spencer niet zeggen. Dead Rising 3, Ryse en andere timed exclusives waren voor zes maanden aan Xbox gebonden, dus mogelijk is dat een goede indicatie.

Spencer bevestigde tevens een Xbox 360-versie. "I have Tomb Raider shipping next holiday exclusively on Xbox. It is Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I'm not trying to fake anybody out in terms of where this thing is. What they do with the franchise in the long run is not mine. I don't control it. So all I can talk about is the deal I have. I don't know where else Tomb Raider goes."

Een PS4, PS3 en een pc-versie ergens in 2016 zitten er dus dik in.
