Bethesda laat Wii U links liggen
Wii U-eigenaren die hoopten The Elder Scrolls Online of Wolfenstein: The New Order te spelen op Nintendo's nieuwste console komen bedrogen uit. Bethesda verklaart op het moment geen games te ontwikkelen voor de Wii U.
Bethesda's PR en marketing vice-president Pete Hines legt een en ander uit aan Joystiq: "None of the game's we've announced are being developed for the Wii U, so it's guaranteed that none of those games are coming to Wii U. Will any future ones come out? I can't say for sure, in our near-term focus it's not on our radar."
"It's largely a hardware thing," aldus Hines. "We make the games that we want to make, on whatever platforms will support them as developed." Als voorbeeld haalde hij The Elder Scrolls Online aan. Volgens Hines was er het aannemelijk dat de game ook voor Xbox 360 uit zou komen, maar dat was simpelweg niet mogelijk vanwege hardwarebeperkingen.
Bethesda sluit toekomstige Wii U-releases echter niet volledig uit. "It remains to be seen what the future holds," aldus Hines.
