President SCEE: "We moeten geld gaan verdienen."

David Reeves, President van Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, heeft uit de doeken gedaan dat Sony vooral eerst geld moet gaan verdienen en dat ze dan pas een stap voorwaarts kunnen gaan doen met PlayStation.

Reeves: "The most important thing for us as a company in the very short term is for us to start making money. This is a pledge that was made last March and is something that we are still very much on target to achieve. Once we have achieved this, I think it will be a very exciting time for PlayStation. Once we have alleviated that specific pressure, we can move forward at a rate of knots."

Volgens Reeves belooft 2009 een spannend jaar te worden voor de PlayStation 3 met blockbuster titels als Heavy Rain en Killzone 2. Daarnaast komt tegen het eind van het jaar de muziek en video download service beschikbaar. Daarnaast moet 2009 een goed jaar worden voor de PlayStation Portable:

"PSP will continue to prosper and sell in incredible numbers, with some great games coming out, which will take full advantage of the new enhanced screen", aldus Reeves.

Reeves concludeert dat ze een reputatie hoog te houden hebben op gebied van amusement en innovatie; 2009 zal een schoolvoorbeeld worden van PlayStation op zijn best.
