Sony ontwikkelt mythologische MMO naar comic Ramayan

Sony heeft samen met Virgin comics de deal gesloten dat het bedrijf een MMO-game mag gaan ontwikkelen op basis van de door Insische mythologie geïnspireerde comic Ramayan 3392 A.D. Virgin zal in het ontwikkelproces aantreden in een adviserende functie. Aan het project zal ook filmmaker Shekhar Kapur meewerken. Kapur regisseerde onder andere Elizabeth, een film die uiteindelijk zeven Oscasnominaties kreeg.

Virgin Comics approached us with a portfolio of amazing comic properties based on Indian lore. We particularly love Ramayan 3392 A.D., as we feel Virgin Comics’ telling of The Ramayana is particularly gripping, graphically brilliant and lends itself extremely well to an MMO, This a fantastic time for us to expand our games to include this culturally rich storyline and we are honored to do this with a diversified, creative and experienced company like Virgin Comics.
