Blizzard hints: Nieuwe Starcraft? Nieuwe MMO?

Uit twee verschillende interviews valt af te leiden dat Blizzard in de achtergrond bezig is met een nieuwe game.
Allereerst is er het interview met Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development, waarin hij het volgende zegt:
"I'm a StarCraft player myself and I hope it's not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I'm standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series"

In een ander interview gaf game designer Jonathan LeCraft (what's in a name?) het volgende antwoord op de vraag of er nog ruimte voor een Blizzard-franchise-based MMO naast World of Warcraft bestaat:

"I think we have the capacity for another one [MMO]. It [World of Warcraft] means that there's going to be some other cool games coming from the studio because we're very successful. And I think they're even going to be a step above what people expect.

"We're always considering our licenses when we think about our next product. They are really strong, well known licenses. We own them completely so we can do whatever we want. We can take the fiction in whatever direction or apply whatever gameplay we want."

Op de vraag of het werk aan deze titel al begonnen is, gaf hij het inmiddels standaard "Maybe"-antwoord, wat zoveel betekent als "ja, maar we mogen er nog niets over zeggen".

Tevens had LeCraft ook nog slecht nieuws voor mensen die World of Warcraft op een console willen spelen. Er zijn geen plannen om World of Warcraft naar de X360 of PS3 te porten.
Er zijn op internet filmpjes verschenen waarop mensen met een Wiimote World of Warcraft spelen. Daar had hij het volgende commentaar op:

"You really do need a keyboard to play WoW. I've seen some mods where people have hooked up WoW to their Wii. When I saw that I was like, well, that's got to be pretty easy to PVP against, honestly. It's not something we're looking at right now."
