Loopt Microsoft over naar het Sony-kamp?

Microsoft is vanaf dag één een supporter van HD-DVD als opvolger van de DVD geweest. Echter, tijdens een persconferentie gaf Microsoft aan dat het ontwikkelen van een externe Blu-Ray-speler voor de X360 een mogelijkheid is.
Mocht HD-DVD mislukken dan kan Microsoft makkelijk het zinkende schip verlaten en op de Blu-Ray-trein springen.

''One thing that was relatively new is the admittance of Microsoft that it is very possible to develop a Blu-ray player compatible with the Xbox360 system just like the current external HD-DVD player. This could be fun and it means that Microsoft still has the possibility to abandon a sinking ship without too many difficulties''
