Gamecloud - Can you give us the name of your new company at this stage?

John Romero - Nope. No reason to be looking over this way - there's nothing to see. We're in stealth mode for a while.

Gamecloud - What hints can you give us about the type of game we can expect from your new company?

John Romero - All I can say is that it's going to be a PC game.

Gamecloud - Doom 3 was released over a year ago. Have you played the game at all and if so what was your reaction to the "remaking" of the game that put you and id Software on the map?

John Romero - I played DOOM3 for 8 hours and I just couldn't take it anymore so I stopped playing it. Then I got HalfLife2, played it and saw the future of the FPS.

Gamecloud - What have you seen, if anything, of the upcoming Doom movie and what is your current opinion of the film?

John Romero - I haven't seen anything and I'm interested in watching it. If it has nothing to do with the game then what was the point?

Gamecloud - What is your current opinion of the entire video and PC game industry? Is it healthy in your view or do you see problems up ahead?

John Romero - PC-wise, it's doing just fine. As has been explained countless times before, this industry goes through gloom & doom cycles every time a new major console is released. PC gaming will always be here because it's the most advanced platform that pushes the boundaries of game design and technology. Console-wise, of course there will be no problems with growth in this area.

Gamecloud - A movie based on the non-fiction book Masters of Doom is currently in the works. What do you think about such a project and if asked which actor do you think could play your role?

John Romero - I have no reason to think anything other than YEAH! Of course, some hot stud actor should play me, right? No? :p

Gamecloud - Finally is there anything else you wish to say about your new game company and your current status?

John Romero - Top-secret.
