Rest Ozzfest tour afgelast [update]

De laatste serie Ozzfests in Europa zijn afgelast, het gaat om Portugal, Zwitserland, Denemarken, Zweden, Finland en twee keer Rusland. Eerder was op de 2e Ozzfest dag in Ierland Ozzy zelf al gecancelled. Het management (Sharon Osbourne) heeft dit aan Pollstar bevestigd.

Er is geen reden gegeven, maar het gerucht gaat dat Zakk Wylde ziek is. Ook voor het Nederlandse optreden gingen er al geruchten dat Ozzy zelf niet zou komen.

Tool keert terug naar Amerika, waarmee ook het optreden op het Norwegian Wood festival komt te vervallen. (Zie news op toolshed.down.net).

De USA edities gaan voorlopig nog gewoon door.

Er is inmiddels een officieel statement:
"The remaining dates of the European leg of Ozzfest 2002 have been cancelled to allow guitarist Zakk Wylde to return home early to recuperate from mental and physical exhaustion. Ozzfest 2002 has been a particularly grueling tour for Wylde as he does double duty opening the show with his band BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and then closing the show as Ozzy's guitarist. Wylde has worked non-stop for over a year recording and touring with Ozzy and recording his own record 1919 Eternal with his band BLACK LABEL SOCIETY."
