Martin Scorseses film Hugo en Michel Hazanavicius' The Artist zijn de grootste kanshebbers voor de Oscars dit jaar. Dit blijkt uit de nominatielijst dat vandaag werd vrijgegeven.
Met respectievelijk elf en tien nominaties leiden de twee films de lijst. Andere films met meerdere nominaties zijn Spielbergs War Horse met zes, Woody Allens Midnight In Paris en Terrence Malicks film The Tree Of Life met drie. Onbegrijpelijk dat The Help genomineerd is voor beste film en die nominatie voor Moneyball is ook zwaar overdreven. Die twee nominaties hadden natuurlijk voor Drive en Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy moeten zijn.
