Voormalig uitgever kloont World of Warcraft

In China werd tot voor kort World of Warcraft uitgegeven en onderhouden door The9 Ltd, maar helaas voor dit bedrijf sloot Blizzard onlangs een deal met een concurrent. Blijkbaar zijn de mensen van The9 daar niet echt blij mee en zo ging onlangs de website online voor de opkomende game World of Fight, de website doet qua stijl erg denken aan World of Warcraft en zelfs de URL is maar een letter anders van die van WoW. The9 brengt daarmee een nieuwe dimensie aan het concept "games kopiren", het leuke is dat dit in China gewoon geoorloofd is.

Volgens onderzoeksbureau iResearch heeft Blizzard weinig om zich zorgen over te maken. Ondanks de mediahype die vooral in China nu ontstaat zullen veel spelers trouw blijven aan World of Warcraft. Dit ook omdat The9 helemaal niet de technische kracht heeft om de game echt helemaal te klonen.
